hello all,
i have a 1992 cadillac brougham with a 350 l05 engine in it and 145k. i would like to beef it up some, the car is slow as a dog. now my options are to either throw in a crate, or pull the existing engine and modify it. i would like around 350-400hp. now i know this should probably be on the cadillac forums but you guys here seem to know a lot more than the average guy. some of my questions are:
if i were to pull the engine, what things should i replace???
what else is going to be beefed up in order to handle the extra power?
if i pull the engine/swap in a new one, will i have to tune the ecm???
im not very familiar with all the tuning and performance stuff. the most complicated job ive done is a head gasket replacement on a cadilalc ht4100 engine which ive been told is a very hard engine to work on. im also deployed to afghanistan right now, so this is all just information i want to gather so i know where to start when i return.
Welcome to TGO. This is a third generation f-body forum not a caddy forum. You may get some answers about the Chev engine but any upgrades to the rest of the car is up to you find on a caddy forum.

the majority of cadillac forums' threads concern rims and stereos, not much for tuning or modifications. but your right, this is a TG forum so ill look elsewhere. sorry for the post
no need to apologize nor run off, we will help with your engine. I'll give you a few of your best options if you reply to this. No point in me posting if you never see this, but if you do, then I'll be happy to.
