I was looking for some information on this engine and was having difficulty finding it. I emailed Yearone and got the following response. I thought I would share the information with you. I was just about to buy an L31 block ($2200) swap the heads for patriot vortec (cost me about $130 after I sold the old heads), change the Cam and install a comp XR270 or XR276 ($250), and add then intake manifold ($185) and flexplate ($100) plus the cost of Misc bolts and gaskets.
Thank you for your interest in Year One products. The intake manifold is usually a Cross Wind by Pro Products. The cam is a custom specified grind, manufactured by Cam Machine Co (The cam has .520 lift and 112 deg LSA. The duration at .050 is 218 and 228) . This uses standard flow cooling and the block is 1 piece rear main seal.
I hope this helps.
The engine is Dyno tested and comes with a 12month/ 12k warranty and looks like it essentially comes with a LT4 hot cam, has a slightly higher CR than the L31, and is a 4 bolt main instead of a 2 bolt. Anyone have any opinions on this as it seems like a pretty good deal.
