| Re: I NEED HELP- im trying to build a 383 stroker. Chances are you're not going to find a donor 400 engine to get a crank and if you do, it's better to just build the 400. Your 350 engine would need to be a 2 piece rear main version to use the 400 crank. The 400 crank isn't a direct drop in. The mains need to be machined down to fit into the 350 block.
Your best bet is to buy a package with all the parts required to build one. You'll still need to get machine work done because the block will need to be bored out for the new pistons. Depending how much you purchased the 350 for and what kind of mechanical skills you have, it may be cheaper to just buy a prebuilt 383 at whatever power level you want.
Places like Jegs and Summit Racing have plenty of kits and engines to pick from.
