305 to 350 TPI Swap: Power Loss at Higher RPMs

I have an '87 Camaro Z28 TPI in which I replaced the 305 for a 350 (block and heads).

The only other parts that I've switched out to upgrade for the 350 are the Knock sensor and the fuel injectors. Everything else is the same (maybe replaced or cleaned but still the same) the computer, the intake, all other sensors, etc. Whenever I open it up it does incredibly at first, it has great power. Then as it gets up to about 3000/3500 RPMs the power dies off incredibly. It still sounds great and doesn't seem like it's missing any cylinders but I get Honda Accords that begin to zip past me.

Are there any parts (sensors, computers) that I have missed in order to make it complete? I'm completely out of ideas...

do a search of the topic and that way you will see everything you need. there are probably over 1,000 posts on 305/350 swaps.
read a bunch - make a list as you do.
there are a few people who could sit down and just type a list, but not that many. there is also a few posts in the HOME area that talk about this.
good luck.

Your ESC module also needs to be swapped with a 5.7 version.

Re: 305 to 350 TPI Swap: Power Loss at Higher RPMs

Also you need a differnt prom card for the 350, and possibly a different ECM for that year. I am planning on doing the same thing w/ my 1986 camaro, and I've done some research and my ECM works for both the 305 and 350, but the prom card needs to be changed for the 350, so idk if both need to be changed but you should look into that.
Heres a website that learned a lot at. Im pretty sure that you only need to change the prom card as far as the computer stuff goes but definantly look at this web site it was very helpful to me!
