Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.
The sticky should give you some idea of the work involved. I'd say the most difficult items are:
- Changing the V6 engine mounts on the crossmember to V8 mounts (the nuts inside the crossmember are a bugger to get to)
- Changing the V6 front springs to V8 (I know many people say they run V6 springs with their V8 just fine, but mine constantly bottomed the suspension until I changed to V8 springs - and the V6 springs had recently been changed by the previous owner) - if you drop the A-arms to change the springs, the engine mount nuts are a breeze to get to
- Fuel system (if the V6 is EFI, plan on dropping the tank and either replacing the in-tank electric pump, or modifying the pick-up for an external or engine mounted pump - see the Carburetor forum for a sticky on modifying the pick-up)
- Wiring
