V6 to V8 Swap

On the 1984 2.8v6 carb'd Firebird, do I have to swap the transmission too when I do the v8 conversion? I read the thread on the V6 to V8 swap, but I wasn't clear on it.

Yes. V6 bolts on differently & is weaker.
