My 3RD Gen has had a transplant from the 2.8L V6, 200R4 AOD to a 1977 305 w/ TH350. He used a weiand stealth intake and an edelbrock 1405 carb. Car takes off like a dog, but it also has no passing gear. Is this combo supposed to have a kickdown cable from the tranny? If so, how do I install it?
It's supposed to. Is the cable on the transmission? If so, you need to mount the cable housing to a bracket mounted to the intake manifold, and the cable end to the carb on the throttle arm opposite from the throttle cable (bottom side of the throttle arm).
After some research, the vacuum modulator valve controls the upshift and the "Detent" or kickdown linkage controls downshift in WOT conditions. I will locate and install one ASAP ...
