fixing up camaro and needs help

im new to this forum i,m looking to get a 1988 camaro and the one i have my eye needs some engine work and i have the money to replace i was waning to know what kind of engine to get (not to car smart yet) also i wana replace the transmission any help with information would be great oh also i don't want to keep her stock after market and performance parts suggestions are welcome ... thanks

I'm not gonna get too specific yet, you haven't given us very much info. But generally, find yourself an '87-up 350 shortblock, then we can go from there.

No, you can't use that, it's a Ford. And do you even have that much $ to be putting into an engine? If so, you should be getting this:

lol i have been doing some reading and your right that would not have worked .. but yes i do have that much to sink in to this car ... would this one work http://paceperformance.com/index.asp...&ProdID=244120 ... i want at least 450 horse power under the hood
