Ok here is what i have, I was given, yes , given a 92 lingenfelter zr1 motor with all wiring down to the ECM and the digital dash can anyone point me in the right direction for wiring diagrams to swap this motor into a 91 Formula?
I dont really have to worry about the aftermarket support Lingenfelters shop is only two hours away and the tuning shop they use is about the same distance. After i get a gasket refresh done on the motor and new oil pump the only thing i plan on doing is stroking and tuning. Thats all the same basic stuff as any SBC
Remember, that motor is nothing like a regular SBC, it was designed and built by MerCruiser for GM. The bore and stroke were both different at 3.9 by 3.66 in (99 by 93 mm) instead of the usual 4 by 3.48 in (102 by 88 mm)
really? according to Lingenfelters shop a standard 383 1pc rear main assembly can be used in that block. where are u getting your info id like to read up some more on that motor. thanks for the input
LT5 engine, an aluminum-block V-8 with the same bore as the standard (L98) 350ci displacement unit, but with 375 horsepower. To accomplish this power boost, the new block featured four overhead camshafts and 32 valves. The LT5s were built by Mercury Marine in Oklahoma and assembled into the ZR-1 vehicle at Bowling Green.
subscribing. I really wanna see lots of progress pics and stuff for when this swap actually happens. It's been done before, but actual progress pics will definitely be neat
nothing has been done to the motor yet. I am waiting to get back from Iraq before I decide on anything. Lingenfelter quoted 8 grand for tweaking and the tuning guys quoted 500. But it also depends on which motor I have. They told me they didnt serial their builds until 2002 so Im waiting on the cars VIN so they can tell me what exactly has been done to the motor already.
