Re: Any Advise????

you're probably going to want to go with a small block chevy. big blocks will fit as well, but if you're only looking for around 400hp a small block would suite you fine. easiest way in my opinion to see that is to go for a 383. pretty cheap to build and provides nice power.

you could also look at summitracing.com, jegs.com and sdparts.com to price out some turnkey solutions. if you want something more custom built, you can look at www.tandlengines.com i have heard good things about them.

if you have any engine shops locally, you could look there too.

Re: Any Advise????

Their 400 HP offering will fit your car, but won't be emissions-legal unless you convert it to TBI. But that 9.73:1 compression is fine, and the 218/224 cam is mild enough. That price is a bit high, plus another $200+ to get it shipped, and then there are things like headers and exhaust to support that power level.
T&L likes (prefers) cams that aren't even close to emissions-friendly, so they wouldn't be my first choice. T&L is known for good HP per CI, and you can't get there with reasonable cams.

Re: Any Advise????

ignore this fool. swapping to an LSx is way more money than doing your engine, plus those heads add another thousand dollars on top of that. These newbs need to be reading and asking, not posting their ignorance.

Re: Any Advise????

you know while most would flame you for that i will just put an end to it and say that yes i am ignorant. you will have to forgive me for my passion about the LM7, I allowed it to cloud my judgement and in doing so, i imagine i deserved such a remark.
