Exhaust Questions

I plan on doing an LS3 Swap, before to long. I have read that no 4thgen long tube header will fit, but what about a 5thgen? I know they are very much alike, but maybe just enough different to work. Exactly why wont the 4thgen headers fit? I plan on getting Hawks K member. Here's what I'm wanting.

Also, does anyone other than hawks sell an exhaust kit for these swaps?

Re: Exhaust Questions

The routing is different on 4th gen headers than on thirdgen headers. 4th gen headers will hit the frame and/or the steering linkage, etc. I imagine 5th gen headers are the same way. You need thirdgen specific headers.

Oops, I didn't pay attention to the original post very well, obviously, but I'll leave the link here anyways:

Do you specifically want tri-y's?

OK that's what I've been reading, but a few posts threw me off a bit. Thanks

I have seen those, but they seem troublesome from reviews I've read. Especially with an automatic and I am going that route.

Will 4thgen shorties fit no problem? (On an LS1)
