Re: cam and stock driveline

A few questions...

Are they aluminum or iron LT1 heads?

Who is doing the welding and machining to make them (heads and intake) fit the 1st gen block?

Are you ok with not running the 1st gen accesories?

ANd lastly why dont you just do the whole LT1 swap? With the machining done to the LT1 intake you can even run a stock TPI harness and distributor.

Alu heads. well LT1's just dont laying around in junkyards over here and I've got the intake and heads pretty cheap.
The welding and machining is done at my work for coffee bread
1st gen accesories is what Im planing to use. is that a problem?

Re: cam and stock driveline

Unless you want to fit it with better gears and a stall converter the stock LT1 cam is your best option.

A 95-up Vortec V-6 S-10 Blazer stall converter will stall out at 2400 rpm and with the LT1 cam is just about perfect.

A set of 3.42 gears are a great improvement from the 2.73's and still cruise at a fairly low RPM.

Well accesory brackets bolt to the heads in the 3rd gen cars and I believe the lT1 bolt holes are spaced differently.

I dont know of they can be drilled for gen1 style brackets but it's something to look into.

Re: cam and stock driveline

I just thought that clearance issue with cooling line would be the problem.
hope anyone can answer if it's doable
