L98 heads for 383

Can i get away with a set of L98 heads and not kill the performance of a 383? I will probably end up getting the Sportsman-II's. Will they fit the stock TPI intake? I think i heard that the 200cc intake runners don't match the intake.. is that right?

Thanks, you lot are the best

You could use the L98 heads, but they would serve you better if they were ported and maybe with larger valves. At the cost of doing all that, new heads look really good pricewise. Tom Keliher has the Sportsman II heads on his car, dont recall him saying anything about the ports not lining up. You can see his car in just about any magazine, its a light blue Formula.
