how guys what you think?

ok first off i wasnt really sure where to put this but i figured it dealt with a swap so here it is. im sorry if its not the right place. anywas hows this for a motor swap, a v8 (350 im thinking) but 32 valve, dual overhead cam! forgured crank and hpyertonic forged alumion pistions, double roller timing chain, full roller rockers, with the VORTEC 5.7 f.i. sounds good right? i think so. now i have seen this motor before (the 32 valve, daul overhead cam) but i cant remember where. so does anyone have an idea of what car these came from? my plan is to go to a pick n pull and grab one, build it, and drop it in with a t-56. and true dual 2.5 in exhaust. not sure bout the rear end yet.

Re: how guys what you think?

Arao made such heads for the SBC, but they're even rarer and more expensive than an LT5. If your heart is set on a 32 valve V8, then there's the Cadillac Northstar, or second choice would be the engine currently ised in the new Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR. It's 5.4L, and supercharged. But it's huge and heavy, though getting it up to 1000 hp is no longer a challenge, except maybe to your financial situation. You really don't need to double the valves, getting an LSx past 600 hp without boost is very doable. Any of these I've mentioned could be made emissions-legal, too.

Re: how guys what you think?

ya well i want the 32 valve mainly bc of the response time. i dont take my car to the drag strips, i dont care for drags, no what i love to do is take it to circuts, and drifting events. plus i dont want to keep adding on to make power.
ya i stumbled across the 5.4L v8 in the mustangs but my concern would be the motor mount points, and ya it is heavy and a ford >.< (not a ford fan)
and LT5...sadly ive never heard of these, what did they come in? LT1, LS1-LS7 and LSx ive heard of but not a LT5.

Re: how guys what you think?

Corvette ZR1 in the C4 generation looks like an L98 or LB9 on steroids. Made betwen 375 and 450(?) horsepower and set numerous records in the vette.

The Northstar isn't 5.7l, but it is the rest. It makes good power for its displacement, but that doesn't make it a good swap candidate. However, it has been done.

But, as stated, the LSx engines are a good choice for performance value.

Re: how guys what you think?

ya i now its not a 5.7...but i wonder could the block be bored out that large? i read its alunimun (i now my spelling sucks, english class wasnt my strong one. but i bet you down over math) and now i wonder would a LSx be cheaper? and is a 16 valve singe cam right? hmm but i dont now im kinda stuck on the 32 valve bc of the response time, not to meation i believe it could push more power out easier, or am i wrong bout that?

Re: how guys what you think?

LS engines are gods gift to man (so many people think). If you want something a little more hassle free (still alot of work from what I've read) that will make lots of power, and get 25mpg. Go LSx. I have never done the swap, so I'm speaking from reading people's start to finish threads and how tos.

Re: how guys what you think?

The LSx has far better response than the LT5, the Ford 5.4, or the northstar. And if you go DBW, you can make it even quicker yet. But none of those 32-valve V8s build revs like the LSx. There really isn't anything known to man that can rival it, unless you install a half dozen of those helicopter things they put in those Hyabusa Y2K motorcycles.
