350 top end build up list take a look

I want to build a 383 stroker engine for my 84 firebird. I want to build a street/strip engine with about 425-450 HP and TQ range. I have made a TOPEND parts list that i think will achieve the power i want with the budget i currently have.

For the build I choose:

Patriot Performance GM Vortec 185cc Cylinder Heads

http://www.jegs.com/i/Patriot-Perfor...ductId=1192214

This seems like a really good deal to me for a set of complete cylinder heads vs buying stock vortec heads and having them all machined and buying stiffer springs and all the other stuff .Has anybody ever used this cylinder head or heard any reviews on it.

Comp Cams 'Xtreme Energy' Hydraulic Flat Tappet Camshafts

Street/Strip, 2800+ stall, likes headers & gears, rough idle.

Operating Range: 2300-6500 RPM
Duration Advertised: 284° Intake / 296° Exhaust
Duration @ .050'' Lift: 240° Intake / 246° Exhaust
Valve Lift w/1.5 Rockers: .507'' Intake / .510'' Exhaust
Lobe Separation Angle: 110°

Proform Aluminum Roller Rockers

1.6 ratio, 3/8" stud

Professional Products, CrossWind Dual Plane Intake

http://www.competitionproducts.com/p...p?number=52028

1500-6500 rpm

I currently have a small block 350 in the car with

STOCK CRAPPY HEADS HOME PORTED AND GASKET MATCH TO INTAKE
STOCK CRANK
STOCK RODS
FLAT TOP PISTONS
ROLLER TIP ROCKERS
TORKER 2 INTAKE
UKNOWN CAM SUPPOSELY RV CAM
MSD STREET FIRE DISTRIBUTOR
AUTOZONE WIRES
EDELBROCK 600 CFM CARB
I HAVE 1 5/8 HEADERS WITH 2 1/2 DUAL EXHUAST FLOWMASTER SUPER 44S

I HAVE A TH350 TURBO 9'' TAILSHAFT WITH B&M STAGE 2 SHIFT KIT IN IT
AND I NEED A STALL CONVERTOR TO MATCH THE CAM I WAS LOOKING AT THESE ONES.

JEGS Torque Converters

GM TH350/TH400 10" Converter
10.75"/11.5" dual bolt circle
Stall Speed: 2700-3000 RPM

http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/60401/10002/-1#

Power Products, Perf. Torque Converter

GM TH350-400 (10.75" Bolt Pattern), 10" (3000-3200 Stall)

http://www.competitionproducts.com/p....asp?dept=1299

I will eventualy end up makeing my 350 into a 383 stroker with this top end. I think i covered just about everything I wanted to. If any of you have used these products let me now how they are I would greatly appreciate it. Also tell me about your killer street/stip combos and if you think this is a good combo or not or what you would change.

Sounds good, get a 3000 stall, that way it will stall to 2500 foot braking. Ought to be close to 500 HP.

Do NOT get either of these products. Yes the Pro Products intake flows about as good as the Edelbrock but its a cheap casting knock off and I personally would not recommend it.

However what ever you do STAY AWAY from Proform rockers. They have a major design flaw and have been known to completely come apart in even mild set ups. Go with comp or harland for your rocker needs.

I agree on the rockers. However, the professional products intakes are great. No one has any issues with them and they are solid. So, get the damn intake and save some cash.

The RPM air gap knock off is the best money can buy. Dual plane and it will rev to 7000 if it has to. But it keeps the bottom end TQ a street car needs.

i use to be into 4.6L mustangs and thats where i first tried one of professional products knock off pieces. There is a reason it's called a knock off and not the real thing. Spend a little more and get the Eld the quality is so much better.

I don't really care where the parts I buy are made, I just try to buy quality parts, and as far as I can tell, Porfessional Products products don't seem to be good quality. I bet you could find 10x the complaints from people bitching about PP as you could Edelbrock or Weiand.

Nope, not in my feelings. My PP intake is fine, no problem at all and is a great casting. So i have no complaint, the people YOU posted are bitching. They said buy american, so like i said, look at the post where the almighty eldeljunk is cracked around the ports.

I like them, but the fact is that they are a direct knock off of a edelbrock casting. 95% anyway.
