| Matt, As I stated in my previous post I am close to being ready to putting the LT1 in. Did you have problems with you motor mounts? By problems I mean did you have to do anything special to get the engine into the car? Also, Did you have problems with your A/C compressor? If so, what problems did you have?
Am working you others issues., will get to you ASAP (am reading book).

| OK, I have a headache. I cannot find the 4 wire/connector in the "big book". I know it has to do with the knock sensor., but the book says that the knock sensor is DK BLU and my wire is Puple. I will keep looking but not tonight.

Engine: LT1 Transmission: 700r4 | Well Multi tasking for the motor mounts, I had to cut it, press it and weld it to make it fit, the thing is you need to bolt the a/c compressor to the right motor mount, if you dont, a/c will vibrate ALOT !. Also, don't forget to sledge hammer your cross member before putting the engine in. the big PITA was to make power steering line, took meabout 4 hour to do something good.
Good luck
Guys, I got myself some shorty headman's header !!! I hope I'll reach 300 horses ! and be able to smoke those tires bad!

| Matt., I know I found it...What I cannot find is where it connects in the 89. I also cannot find in the "big book" the small connector that is labeled A (BLK) B (BLU) C(TAN) (looks tan. If it in one of these books I can't find it. Not sure what it connects to either...
Can anyone help?

| Matt., HP Salvage has a nice article concerning putting an LT1 into a 3rd Gen. I even sent them an email to confirm what was written. The fellow I "spoke" said if I used the RH motor mount from a 94 Caprice I would not have to do any cutting. I only need to "sledge hammer" the cross member. My question to you is did the A/C lines that exit the compressor fit after you sledge hammered the cross member or did you have to get different line?
Last question…About how long did you make the power steering line?
OK, for real., last question: What about fuel lines? What did you do?

Car: '92 RS Engine: LT1/4 Transmission: T-56 Axle/Gears: 3.70BW | when I did my swap neither the stock or the new AC lines fit. CarQuest makes a great little fitting that Im about to put on that is compact, and the best part about it is that you can turn the lines any dirction you need them to go because the fittings turn 90* right after it bolts onto the compressor

| Matt that is C100. It connected (on the 93) to the underhood fuse block.
|A|B|C|D|E|
|K|J|H|G|F|
| |
A is PNK and is power feed from injector fuse 9
B is DK GRN/WHT and is A/C compressor relay control
C is DK GRN and is A/C compressor clutch solenoid feed
D is TAN and is serial data signal.
E is BRN and is Air Pump Replay Control.
F is BRN and is power feed from FANS/SOLs Fuse 6
G is PNK and is power feed from ignition fuse 11
H is DK BLU and is secondary coolant fan relay control
J is DK and is primary fan replay control.
K is PNK and is power feed from injector fuse 10.
I am using a Chilton's "Wiring and Vacumm Diagrams" to map the wires back to either my relays or fuse block or both....Not sure how its going to turn out -- have not finished writing that document.
I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE OTHER WIRE IS AND WE NEED TO FIND SOMEONE TO HELP US WITH IT.
WE ALSO NEED HELP ON THE BLACK CONNECTOR WITH THE THICK PINK STARTER WIRE GOING TO IT.
THAT A HINT GUYS (:-)HELP PLEASE! |

Engine: LT1 Transmission: 700r4 | I'm thinking about doing a ram-air system, by taking 2 k&N air filter on a V6 2.8 air intake and then making a dock on the wind deflector under the nose of the car.maybe 2-4 hp gain .better than nothing.

| Never mine., I found it --- will have to do some reading... Looks like there is a .8 YEL/BLK coming off A1(86) of the starter enable relay going to A4(??) of the PASS-Key II module.
There is also a YEL (size unknown) coming off C2(85) going to a splice that ends up a "hot at all times" crank fuse 17 which is 3AMPS.
There is a DK GRN A2(87) wire of unknown size that ends up at the starter solenoid (changes from DK GRN to PPL). And, C1(30) go to the same fuse via the same splice that I mentioned.
The starter enable relay is the same as the hatch release and fuel pump relay so you should be able to buy it at any parts store.
Well Matt, today is the day. We are going to pull the V6 after work.... And take it to the junk-yard (life is good!)

Engine: LT1 Transmission: 700r4 | Ok guys I need explaination on a fuel-starter or hatch release relay.
My way if seeing it is:
it works with a solenoid that close a circuit to give power to something that requires a higher voltage .Am I right on this ????
where is it located ??? fuse box ???
