Hi Paul and Welcome!

So give us all the details- why an IROC?, was it a private buy?, mileage?, plans for it?

Also if you have any pics, let's see her!

How do you find using Nitrous? Where do you refill and how much does it cost? Also how long does a bottle last?

Are you going to any shows this year?

Cheers,
Felix

Hi ,

Well i have only had the car a few days !!.
I have always wanted a Z28 and this is the best one i have seen in 4 months, so i brought it.
It has 60k miles and is in mint condition. As for the Nitrus it is incredable. Its like someone has fired up a rocket engine on the back of the car !.

It blows away my 85 Pontiac Fiero GT.

So is there actually a UK Camaro Web site / Forum page ??? i have been looking and cannot find anything.

I helped set up www.fieroforum.co.uk so perhaps if i get enough interest i will set up a UK site for Camero's in particular Third and fourth generations.

It will be nice to have somewhere where we can put of lots of pics of our cars, and set up meets etc.....

Its a 1987 Z28 IROC-Z. 5.0 (305) V8 with TPI. 4sp Auto with a B&M Quickshift. 65K miles. Imported in early 1988 into Devon.
As far as i know its completely standard apart from the Quickshift, 150HP Shot Nitrous, and the FlowMaster exhaust.

It also has electric drivers seat, elec mirrors, elec Windows, Cruise control, Air Con, & Auto Dip rear view mirror
This weekend i have fitted new Sony xPlod 4x6's in the Dash and 6x9's in the rear quarter panels. Wow a huge improvement in sound !!.

I have been looking for a 3rd Gen Z28 for the last 4 months and this is the best one i have seen. It is so clean, no rust at all. The paint is perfect. It has been stored "Every" winter. I paid 4K for it which i thought was reasonable considering its condition.
Well this weekend has been really crappy with all this rain, so i have not managed to get any pics done. But as soon as we get a good day i will take lots of detailed pics and create a cardomain web page.

EDIT: It has 16" alloys, its Tuned Port Injection. And its LHD.

So which is it, 350 or 305? This post reads one thing while the cardomain page reads another.

What sort of speeds have you had it up to so far?

btw, clean looking interior.

Sorry, it is acutally a 5.7 according to the bonnet sticker.......
The previous owner said it was a 5.0.

I will change my Signature.

Well on the way home from buying the car i had a little play for about half a mile. With the NOS kit turned on i punch the pedal at 80mph and she just took off like a rocket and it hit 140mph before i chickened out and let off the loud pedal.
So its damn fast.

Wow that's a bonus, buying a 5.0 and finding out it's a 5.7!! Love the 16"'s in Gold, it's what I have too

You're a braver man than me jumping in a new car, using the nitros and shooting up to 140mph!!!

Enjoy the beast

sorry to have to say mate that it IS a 305... I should know I owned the car about 4 years ago... and I regret selling it!!! It was one of the nicest ones I saw and I had a moment of madness.

When I owned it it was totally unmodified and had a stack of bills to go with it - infact pretty much a full record of it's UK life

Well done mate - you've got a gem there!!!

Hi !!,

Wow a previous owner !!, thats cool.........
Did you sell it to the guy from Eastbourne that i got it from ???, as i think he had it for about 4 yrs.

The bonnet sticker quite clearly says 5.7L. But i noticed there are fine scratches under the paint on the passenger side of the bonnet. Therefore the bonnet has had some damage and then been resprayed. They did a fairly good job, but i could still see the fine scratches. So perhaps there was a bonnet swap ?.

There appears to be no sign of damage on the front end, i have gone over it with a fine tooth comb !!.
I have also taken out the 150hp nitrous jets and fitted 80hp ones instead. Much safer for the engine.

Q. So what car do you have now ??

PS: I still have ALL the invoices, right from its early days...

when I had the car it had no engine size stickers and the paint-work was immaculate :hail: the only blemish were 2 'Tesco dings' VERY small and not too easy to see - other than that perfect

Originally it had the grey IROC alloys which I replaced with the gold items... i also put in the AIWA cd multiplayer.

when I sold it it was to a chap in Uxbridge (a private dealer I later found out ) and up until about 2 days ago I had my sales invoice for it but that's just goine - sorry!!

Hopefully I'll get to see it again sometime :lala:

As for now well still in the same vein - an '86 383 cui Z28

now RM that's a N A S T Y question to ask!!!

a little emabaressed at the moment... used a g-force meter init the other day for the first time... shall we just say that an open diff with low gears does not make for a good 0-60 time (especially with 2 fat lads in it!!!)... mind you then again nor does lifting off before hitting 60!!!

Being the other fat bloke in it, to be fair to it it hauled severe arse in the last 3 seconds of the run when it finally gripped and went and you did back off just before hitting 60 so as not to take the back end off that Fiesta...
