An IROC in France :)

Hi there buddies !

My name's Pierre, and I live in Dinard.

This little town is located in Brittany, next to Saint-Malo, and 50 miles away from Mont Saint-Michel.

I'm 25, and I've been for a bit more than one year the proud owner of a 1988 Chevrolet CAMARO IROC-Z, fitted with the nice 350 ci Tuned Port Injection L98 engine under the hood.

You may find pics of my ride on the following link :

http://www.camaro-firebird.com/PlusBelle.htm

The pictures were taken by one of its previous owners, but the car still looks like this.

Here's a pic of her for those of you who would be too lazy to check the link posted above :

I mainly use this car as a leisure car, because its "american sized" fuel consumption would never fit with the content of my wallet if I used this car as a daily driver.

Here's a pic of my daily driver, just for your fun :

Not very "sexy" according to american standards, but my parents bought it brand new while I was 5, so I just love this car anyway (plus it's not a gas guzzler as the Camaro is ). It's a 1988 Volkswagen Polo fitted with a 1043 cc (about 60 ci, or 1.05 liter if you prefer), 45 hp engine. The odometer indicates more than 190.000 miles.

I already have a few questions to ask concerning wheel alignment, caster and camber angles to apply to my car, so if somebody on the board has a 1988 Camaro Shop Manual, please keep it ready

But no questions for today, as it's 2.29 AM, I just need to go to sleep. Questions will come tomorrow or during the week-end.

Hope to hear from y'all soon, and please, as my english won't be perfect, just don't hesitate to correct me if I'm writing something wrong.

Congrats, there is more information in these archives about thirdgens than anywhere else. Except at GM, I'm sure they've got tons of design notes from when the car was being designed.

How many people on average know what it is, or ask about it.

As for the daily driver? I've always bought my daily drivers from my mom. When she gets tired and wants a new car, I buy the old one from her and drive it till it dies.

Nice IROC.

I love the polo too. I used to have a polo just like that along with the IROC and it was a blast in itself. There wasn't much I couldn't do (and didn't do) in that polo. It was a laugh riot.

Nice Iroc!! Good to see that it has been taken car of all the way over there. All you have to do is ditch the FlowMaster Stickers and it will be perfect.
