Just introducing myself, I'm James from the UK and have recently purchased a 1987 IROC-Z 5.0 TPI automatic. She's a hardtop in red and its my first American car and I totally love it! It's covered 90k and has a few mods including a Flowmaster exhaust system, K&N air filters, blackout tail lights and a B&M power shifter.
Already carried out a service and got a few more jobs to do. Next is new spark plugs (I got 3 in but it's hard work!) and front brake pads.
Welcome to the board! You'll be glad you found it. There is a wealth of great information out there so read as much as possible and enjoy your new car!
Welcome to the board and one of the best cars for messing around with. It's easy to get more power out of these and the aftermarket is full of great stuff.
I take it you know that that car has a wet shot Nitrous plate setup fitted to it? If not you do now and if so can you please tell me what the shot is set to and what you think about it?

Robert,
I was aware of the nitrous system, it was fitted by the owner previous to the guy I bought the car from. I have no idea how it works or if it does work so I'm afraid I can't really answer you question.
I find the car plenty powerful enough stock for me so I don't think I'll ever use it.
I started off with my car being plenty powerful also and only planned to do a few simple modifacations for an extra 25-30bhp. That didn't last very long.
Hey James, are there many cars like this where you live?
Hey,
No not really, I do know of two other 3rd gen Camaros near the city I live in and there is a 4th gen a few blocks from where I live. You rarely see American cars on the roads, it's pretty unusual and I get a lot of stares and comments at fuel stations! I don't use it as my everyday car because I just couldn't afford to fill her up (at $9 a gallon).
I am from Europe too! actually from Malta and you will suffer from duty charges like me to bring parts from usa!!
and by the way! I really like the look of that guy in your avatar from the film Bullitt!! nice movie!

Hi Lorry,
Thanks, I am taking very good care of it!
So far I've been lucky and have imported a few bits from eBay US without incurring customs charges. I think it depends on how the seller marks up the customs form. I had two items sent over and they were marked as a "gift" so don't incur any charges!
