electronic cutout

Performed a search with no results.
Just wondering what your comments are if you are running one. Can it be partially open? What brands and how much?

I have heard from a lot of people that they can be unreliable. Why not just get a regular cut-out? It's a whole lot cheaper and really doesn't take very much to cap it.

Unreliable?!?!?!

BWAAAA HAAAAAA HAAAAA HAAAAA!!!!!!!

Yea. And those damn windshield wipers to. Those things are so unreliable.

And how about those damn blower motors. Don't you hate it when you have to buy a new one every week?

Come on!!!!!!!! Just because it's an electrical component doesn't mean that it's unreliable.

How many of those people that said "they can be unreliable." actually have them? Usually you'll hear that kind of stuff from people that don't have them because they don't want to spend the money for them.

I can't say that they are reliable since I don't have one. And I'm not going to say that they are...... since I don't know if they are.

Know what I mean?

Do a search on the forum over at camaroz28.com . It's more of a 4th gen thing then it is 3rd gen. I've got the borla cat-back so I'm considering it. I can get it for $100 .

A McCord Power Plate II is what you need.....and they are only like $100.00. Here is the website http://www.mccordcg.com/mpp/pictures.htm ......I'm getting one for my cut out. And YES.......they can be partially opened so you can tune it to how loud you want it. On my 1991 Z28 5.7 TPI (L98) I have a 3 inch Flowmaster 80 series cat back exhaust, with both cats removed, 3 inch exhaust cutout and 3 1/2 inch tips. Now....I have to say.....with the plate off of the cut out.....it's WAY to loud for the street and sounds kind of crappy. But....one of my buddies gave me a BORLA exhaust plate....and I rigged it to fit on my cutout.....and it sounds freakin really really mean and aggressive and loud. Sounds more like a series 40 flowmaster...but like 5 times louder. But....I'm still going to get a McCord Power Plate II just so I don't have to crawl underneath my car.....and it would be kewl just to set inside your car and by the flip of a switch...you can change the sound of it.

Anybody up for the group purchase? Hopefully knock off like $20 bucks.
