Just curious... Does anyone here have the block hugger headers from Hooker or anyone else? The reason I ask is because they are about $400.00 Canadian less than the other OEM fit type. I don't think they come with the A.I.R tubes , but can I get rid of the tubes/ pump anyway? Also, would these headers bolt up to the stock Y-pipe?
Thanks, Jeff

I don't have them, but looked into them when I still had the 350 in the '57.
No, the stock y-pipe won't fit up to them, so a custom pipe would be in order. But, those headers were designed with street rods in mind, which typically don't have anything under the engine. Take a look down the center of your engine on each side, straight down between the center two exhaust ports - see anything there? That's where the block huggers collect, and why they won't fit a factory chassis.
Besides, the block huggers are for show, not go. You'll get much better performance out of headers designed for a 3rd gen. And, y-pipes are typically part of what you get (hence the extra $400C).
