My car is not the loudest I've ever heard but its fairly loud. I have 1 3/4" SLP headers and y-pipe with a flowmaster muffler and no cat. Ive never gotten a ticket or been pulled over for it though. It is louder than my friends 68 Mustang which has dual exhaust (2 1/2") with Flowmaster mufflers. I have the loudest 3rd gen around where I live.
my car is up there, i was driving the other day and droped the hammer with the windows down, i was setting off car alarms in parking lots as i drove by at about 50mph, i have Headman LT's and a full 3inch dual exhaust to 2 summit brand welded mufflers at the back. its dam loud

whenever there are parked cars around me...alarms go off. EVERYDAY.
neighbors have complained. left notes on my car, knocked on my door.
ive been pulled over, cited.
setup: hooker long tubes 1 3/4
Mufflex 3" y pipe
Thats all
cali law aint busting your balls over it........
shorty headers, straight pipe cat, all 3" flowmaster 40 series race muffler. sound clip in sig by clicking on videos then downloading the two .WAV files....
Well, the only way I have started my car yet is with only the Hooker long tubes and no exhaust. My brother started his car to leave after I turned mine off and it is a 305 with no cat or muffler and I couldnt hardly hear it because of how loud my car was it almost deafened me. Anyway I have my exhaust on now. I should be able to start it again this weekend(had a problem with the carb) to see how it sounds. Now I have dual 2.5" exhaust with h pipe and dynomax bullet mufflers.

I used to have a single glasspack attached to the pipe where it used to go over the rear. instead of going over the rear it just pointed straight down by the right rear tire. got me a few tickets. heres a good one becoming more popular all the time. http://www2.latech.edu/~baf004/wooowoo.asx

i got the motor in the sig pumpin through hooker 1 3/4 long tubes, 24" of 2 1/2" pipe and dual flowmaster 40 series dumped under the rear seat. had to remove my entire stereo because i couldn't hear it even when cranked. had 2 rockford 10's with a 300 watt amp and a 45watt x 4 kenwood cd player. i love pulling up next to the thugs and drownin their "bump" out lol.

Last week a cop pulled me over because he heard me 6 blocks away......... It was great. He caught up with me and when I pulled over he asked if i got on it a little back there. After everything was over i got a warning.
The other day the guy in the car in front of me in the drive through waved me to shut mine off so that he could make his order. I know that I don't have the loudest exhaust in the world, but I figure this is plenty loud enough. - Besides, if we want loudest, how about my father's '68 Camaro drag car with a 1471 blower fed 572ci blower motor on open funny car style zoomies?...
Full 3in exhaust dual exit, no cat, no muffler, 12in tips non resonator type no restriction! It actually doesent sound too loud more like a dual flowmaster setup. I pulled next to a cop the other day and he dident give me a second look but everbody that has a decent sport's type car sure does.

I prefer quality (a kick *** sound) over quantity (ALOT of sound).
Like the job my cousin did on his friend's Tercel a few weeks back. For some reason (don't know, wasn't there) the exhaust pipe basically broke off about half way between the engine and the muffler, so they had to do something right? So, he went to an exhaust shop and got some pipes bent for him and he got a resonator. He put all this stuff on in his garage and i gotta say... it sounds nice. It is a louder than stock, but not obnoxiously loud, and sounds much better than the jobs done by 15 year olds who apply the idea that "bigger is better" to their muffler and get one with a 5" tip. Also, this new peice has a classy looking chrome tip thats probably about 2.5", so it looks good, but not huge. And because it is quieter and sounds alot cooler than stock or any fart pipe, there have even been people who asked about what was under the hood!! The car is 100% stock inside and out with no stickers or anything like that, except for the exhaust and stereo, but it still gets alot more attention (the good kind) than anything with a tip as big as a coffee can.
^ this is exactly what i mean about quality over quantity.
The loudest engine i have ever heard BAR NONE was being about 3 feet away from a monter truck when it fired up and surrounded by concrete (floor, wall and roof) for it to echo off of... THAT was loud. 540ci with an 8-71 (i think) blower on top, running on alcohol and with open headers big enough to stuff my fist into.
The loudest car I've ever heard on the street was actually a VW bug!
It had 1 5/8" exhaust and a "stinger" exhaust pipe, no muffler. You could hear it 3 miles away, literally! Ah, the research capabilities of cell phones!
Well, mine's pretty loud. Stock 305, heddmen hedders, 2 1/2 in dual flex pipe all the way back to the mufflers, which are glasspacks, mounted under the bumper. My brother in law said today that he could hear me coming all the way up the street.
W/o a dB meter reading at the tips (or a set distance)... it's all speculation on who has the loudest exhaust.

Mine's pretty dang loud especially compared to that old 305 and near silent muffler, the new 350 sounds awesome I'm running true duals not cats, 1 5/8" Flowtech shorties, 2 1/4" pipe into Flowtech Warlock mufflers with turn downs under the rear axle, with the caps open on the muffler it doesn't sound as good but dang loud!!
My buddy still has me beat I noticed someone said something about the Flowmaster single chambers, he has 91 Mustang 5.0 with Mac Shortie 1 5/8" headers, 2 1/2" pipes, no cats true duals, into Flowmaster single chambers you can hear him pulling into school the other end of the parking lot.
2 1/2 in pipe freeflow converter flowmaster muffler, magnaflow tips. almost all the time i put off next cars alarms when i drive by most at the malls, if i give it a hard rev like 5 cars go off its a joke. i luv it though!
Well the 2 stroke weed-eater motor I have now can't make too much more than plain noise. I have a briggs muffler on there right now......hoping to put on a straight pipe soon though:sillylol:

Very low rumble. When the engine hit 2000 rpm it sounds awesome. Sets off alarms. At idle it just sounds like a low rumble. Makes my 300 hp seem more like 400. Key to a great sound is not too big and not too small. Just the right size.
