long tubes vs. shorties HP output??

I want to put some headers on my '90 RS, as well as a custom "x" pipe crossover, and true dual tubing, all the way back, with a lightweight muffler on each side, rather than the big transversal unit.

I've been reading all the post you guys have written up, and looking at the pics, and I really wanted some long tube headers, but it seems the ground clearance is reduced, and a lot of things have to be adjusted/changed, etc.

What average difference in power can be expected between long tubes and shorties? i think that shorties might have less packaging problems, and allow the tubing after the collector to be routed a bit easier, and closer to the chassis.

What do you guys think?

On a stock engine there will hardly be any hp advantage with longtubes over shorties. I think long tubes are too much of a pain just for the little power advantage they have over shorties.
