Header Installation Questions

Ok Maybe I'm Over worrying or preparing, but my headers should be here from Jet-Hot anyday. (hooker 2460s) I need to know are the bolts and gaskets hooker provides with the headers good for installation, or should i be getting pgraded gaskets and stage 8 or ARp bolts or something. anything else i need to know to be prepared?

ME TOO!

I've got the same question. My headers just got here from ACS

Hedman shorty's I need your opinions and experience on this. Who makes the best gaskets and are the locking header bolts really worth it. If so which bolts are best?

Thanks!

The Hooker gaskets are pretty poor. I used Felpro 1404's with no problems in 2 years. Dead-soft aluminum or copper are good, too.

In those 2 years, I've had 3 header bolts loosen slightly (only had to tighten them once). Stage 8 locking bolts solve that problem.

Good luck to you too! I'll be waiting to hear about your exhausting adventure!

As soon as I can get all the parts here I plan to take a couple of vacation days to do the work. I have to take them before the end of Dec or lose them so I might as well... Hopefully I will be able to do it this week or next week...

Good Luck!

I would highly reccomend copper or aluminum gaskets, although the fel-pros five7 mentioned above will work just as well, and stage 8 bolts. I've had mine for well over a year and haven't had to touch them.

They'll be fine. They're a 3 layer gasket with a steel core so you won't have a problem with them blowing out or burning up.
