get the lt1 model of you have a single cat app. a lot of people have them around here and it looks like you'd just have to cut it down to size. actually, the 3rd gen's exaust tilts in twords the axel more where as the 4th gen's seem to run strighter out twords the rear. honestly, i wouldnt waste the money on a loud mouth. the pack they send with the setup is nothing but a hollow pipe. i have one sitting out on my breeze way. you could just get the pack, weld it on after the cat, and replace your muffler with a piece of pipe. thats all the loudmouth is...

so in the loud mouth system, all the muffler, or pack if thats what your talkin about, is a hollow tube? that strang, i figured there would be some kind of resonator in it some kind of screen.

exactily what my brother did. he took it off and put a dyno bullet on thinking it would be quieter, it wasn't. we didn't realize it was a hollow pack untill we took it off the 2nd time and looked through it. no screens, no nothing. completely hollow inside.

thats the best way to do it. i was going to use the loudmouth pack, but i think i might get a moroso spiral pack if i can't run a spintech muffler (have a sumped tank) i'm thinking i will hang one on each part of the frame in the back and have the tips welded right to the pack. if they say its to dangerous to cross over the sump, i'm stuck having one out the right. will look odd but i have no choice

for anyone whos intrested, my brother does want to sell the loudmouth pack.

he says he'll take 50 bucks for it. thats not bad since you can't buy them seperate from the catback.

but the loudmouth is stainless, and it also screams when you get on it. even at idle its louder then average. hence the name...

Well obviously its louder then average at idle. So is the bullet muffler.Just with more of a tone. And yes the whole system is stainless...So whats the point of getting a stainless pack? Unless someone is planning on getting the rest of their system fabbed in stainless as well. I just know I personally think a bullet muffler sounds better.Im just sharing my opinion and a more economical solution. Better sound for $20 less... And thanks for letting me know what and how the loudmouth sounds, I have 3 friends who have it, have been on this board for almost 2 years and based my exhuast setup on it.

i wasn't directing my post to you. i was speaking to the person who was planning on getting the system for his 92. i would also like to add, you dont need to get a complete stainless system just because you have a stainless pack. the pack will just last longer then the rest of the system. and for the books, the bullet and the loudmouth pack sound the exact same, except the bullet doesn't drome like the loudmouth does.

the bullet isn't a muffler, its a pack btw...

I've heard both...The bullet takes a little bit of the poppy nasty sound out of it too...And yeah its a muffler, Anything that muffles the sound is a muffler...You still call a glasspack a muffler...Its listed in all catalogs as a muffler...Its all good though, no use arguing over details Both sound good and loud, Both have their strong points... So yay for loudmouth and close to loudmouth systems!

heh. you really think it takes more rasp outta the exaust? i guess it depends on the system. its a bit quieter on the inside of the car compared to the loudmouth. the hawk still sounds raspy on the outside, pops a bit less then it used to. all and all i think they are pretty much the same.

any take on the moroso spiral pack? i think i'll be using 1 or 2 of those depending on my fuel tank sump situation. i haven't heard one in person, but my take from the design is that it will be a bit more quiet then a regular pack in general. i'm not trying to be a cop magnet since my car shouldn't be driven on the street to begin with. i think the only thing that is streetable on it is the cat

My friend has spiral packs on his Nova... They were much different sounding then I expected...Overall a good sound...But its not a sound I would like on my car...

I have the SLP Loudmouth and it's a bit raspy under WOT and it's VERY loud at WOT, actually too loud. From 2k-3k it sounds very good under normal driving, couldn't be happier. I wanted stainless and something different for a change that's why I chose SLP's Loudmouth(mine's an LS1 version).
