Hedman 68481 + Flowmaster 17233 = Which cat?

Ok... I'm getting exhaust into a car (Iroc w/5.7) which came without engine/trans/exhaust. SO, I've been looking and found that the Hedman 68481's fit the best with what I'm trying to do (emissions wise). I also picked out the Flowmaster 17233 kit because it's listed for HO engines, and 3" sounds good for future upgrades.

Now to the part I'm lost at, the catalytic converter. I've seen some Walker/Dynomax cats (15622) that are listed as a direct fit. Unfortunatly, I have no idea what kinda exhaust originally came with these cars, so I have no clue if It's a direct fit or not. What would be the best option for a direct fit?

I'm also not too keen on doing a lot of fabbing/welding, so will the "Y"-pipe that comes with the 68481's fit a 3" exhaust? I can't find *any* specs on the "Y"-pipe included.

Many Thanks,

-P

If the y-pipe that comes with the Hedmans ends in a 3" collector, then you should just go with a Catco Direct Fit converter from Summitracing.com. Just go there or call, it is part#CTO-9118...here is the link to the page it is on:
