lt1 exhaust manifold

will the exhaust manifolds from an lt1 engine work in the 3rd gens... reason i asked is that i am doing an lt1 intake swap, and it seems that if i could use the manifolds since they have an egr tube comming from them i will be able to make the egr work on the lt1 intake with little modification.. just need to be able to get a pipe from the back of the intake to the manifold... since my p1 does not have the exhaust manifold with that provision and the lt1 exhaust manifold does i thought that if it fits , i could make it work.. thanks in advance for any help thanks

If you did that where would you put the distributor? the EGR valve would be in the way.

thanks shifty, wasnt sure and couldnt find anything thru searches... guess i will go at it another way... maybe tap a hole for a pipe thru the manifold into where the 3rd gen egr comes in from the head and run a pipe to the rear of the intake... as for the egr valve 85 transam.. i was thinking of machining a block of aluminum to match up to the ports and have it come off at an angle to clear the dizzy... got to be a way to make it work though.. thanks again

Yes they will bolt up, however your real problem is getting the egr valve to clear the distributor which is added. You'd need a custom y pipe though.
