Does any one know where I can find a 3" intermediate pipe for my 91 Formula? I'm in the process of installiny a set of SLP tri-y's and would like to scrap my current cat back (stock 2.5" pipe w/dual cats 40 series flowcrapper) for a 3" with a borla pro xs muffler. I've tried slp and mufflex but no one will give me an answer. I would have one bent, but the quality of the work I've seen from the shops in my area is poor at best, crush bends, leaky welds etc. I'd like to go stainless if anyone knows where I can buy one.
as far as stainless no one that I am aware of makes a complete stainless I pipe for this year. that is why I put a maganflow 4th gen exhaust on mine. $350 for complete 304 stainless. it is a bit on the quiet side though.
you can get a dynomax alumized one from summit.
wlk-44063 $91.99 is the I-pipe
wlk-43248 $54.39 is over the axle
as for the other manufactures they make them but they are all in kits and I don't know if they sell them seperately. I know flowmaster has part numbers a well.
flowmaster would be 3 part numbers
26088 over the axel
26109 I-pipe
26003 converter adapter
a 3rd options would be to just buy some stainless stock and have shop make it without bending but I think this woud be more than just buing a 4th get catback.
you have to make you own conection ot the cat or lack of cat. I bought a 3" bassani ball and socket joint and welded that to the header and modified the sytem to mate to it. you also do you own hangers but that is not really a big deal. If you don't have a welder you would have to pay to have it done. 2-3 hours most likely.
I am just unaware of a full t-304 stainless I-pipe for the thridgens. even the borla system has you hack into the factory I-pipe.
