Worth it to get hedman shorties with true duals?

Ive been debating on LTs vs shorties. Ive been thinkin about LTs for the most part, but here recently Ive been leaning towards shorties due to mainly street use and the motor wont see the upper side of 6500RPMs much. The "fad", for lack of a better term, for headers seems to be that if u got LTs, true duals. If you got shorties, Y-pipe. Do many people use shorties with true dual set ups? Im using a T-5 manual trans so from what Ive heard clearance isnt that big of an issue at the x-member.

Motor's got a lil work done to it:
383ci, ~10.5:1 CR
Forged flat tops and forged I beams
Block undecked
GMPP L31 Vortecs, ported exhaust ports
XE274H, 230/236 @ .050", 490"/490" 110LSA

So with that set up Ive got, It almost seems like LTs wud be over kill, seeing how this motor might push around 400hp.

Getting the LTs won't decrease your power so why not? You may not NEED the extra flow, but a few extra hp and not having to fab as much (since they exit lower than shorties) is always a good thing.

My problem is ground clearence. would shorties give you more ground clearence? will LT's clear with a T-5?

LT's won't go by a scattershield. If they will clear your setup, get them. They will make more power than shorties. If you drive it all the time, and don't want to hear scrape scrape scrape, I would get a set of SLP 1 3/4 headers and deal with the 10-15 hp loss (swag guess). Ground clearance or scraping, it's up to you. BTW, I'm running the 1 3/4 SLP's on my 350 and putting 350 to the rear wheels. It's your call on what's more important.

I'd love to see a pictur of that. The hedmans go 45* twords the engine, which makes running duals a nightmare (for the left side anyway) I'd love to see how the heck you routed the left side.
