Another happy Hooker

Customer that is I finished installing the 2055s today. I just replaced the heads and had all the accessories already removed, With it pretty bare, they both went in easy. The right side hit the starter a little and was a tight fit, but with about 2 minutes of moving, it fell right into place. As others state, the bolt closest the firewall on the right side it a pain. I did have to bend the brake lines slightly and the coolant tube on the right side.

The biggest hassle was the dipstick tube. It took longer to get this out than it did to install both headers. It came out the first couple of inches easy, but the rest was a struggle. I pulled, twisted, and finally put on sime vice grips and used a hammer to knock it out. Another new part to buy.

I threw the intake back on to see it back together and took a few pictures at http://www.thesherwoodgang.com/cars/88vert.html. I still have to do a bunch of cleanup and detail work. The valve covers and manifold are a crinkle black powder coat finsih and the rest is gloss black. It's simple and durable.
