IMCO 80 series crossflow (Flowmaster)

Anyone used these mufflers. My long time exhaust guy mentioned them to me. After checking them out they make a muffler that is a 80 series crossflow 3 inch in/dual 2.5 inch out. The case size is just between FLOWMASTER 43083 and their 53083 which are 80 series 3 inch in and dual 2.5 out. Difference is the case size. He has seen several of them and tells me they are same materials which I verified on both manufacturers website and he also said they are welded the same and same almost identical. Best part
is they are half the price of Flowmaster.

Please no one throw in Borla or magnaflow or whatever, I want
this to be apples to apples comparison not apples to oranges.
I have several Flowmasters but could save some money so anyone have one of these IMCO mufflers ? Thanks......

I've used a V force muffler that was a knock off of a Flowmaster, worked great, still have it laying in the garage actually.

My boyfriend has them on his car and on his 68 and they sound INCREDIBLE....very throaty and naughty. I like them way better than the flowmasters and they are less than half the cost. I will be getting them on my own IROC-Z shortly after it comes back from paint.

LOL Mercedes huh? Not me! I'm an old school car-lovin' 80's girl....

I am going to see if I can get a recording of the sound the IMCO's make....probably won't be able to do it until this weekend though. I will post it as soon as I do....
