Installed a TSP rumbler today

I had a magnaflow cat and a TSP rumbler installed on my GTA today. Yeah, seems to me 4th gen catbacks don't fit too well....at all. Every pice of pipe had to be cut or bent. I went to one of the best shops, and it still was a huge mess. It sounds good, but paying 300+ for an exhaust, and then a hundred or 2 more to get it to fit...just isn't worth it.

But its on, and the tips may not be lined up, but at least they are in the same zip code. Its just my experience, but I don't really reccomend a 4th gen catback. It sounds really nice though. Ill try to get some clips up soon.

Oh, and hello

I'm surprised they had such a hard time making it fit. I've seen 4th gen catbacks put on 3rds before, and they just moved the hangers and I think trimmed one pipe a little.

Easy there foose. We weren't expecting a bolt on either. But thats not even it...NOTHING was close. The tailpipes sat about 6 inches too far to the driver side. I mean....common now. I woulda been better off with a mustang cat back or somthing. It really was that bad. Just by assembling it on the floor and looking up at the stocker, you could tell it was way different.

Maybe it was just TSP's product?

What do you mean it was " tailpipes sat about 6 inches too far to the driver side" that obvioulsy means that the hangers weren't adjusted ot the 3rd gen body style. It DOES take a bit a FAB work to make it fit. Other have done it . . I wish you the best

Hey what's up man? How are you liking your thirdgen?

I don't suppose you have before and after pics? I'm really curious now. The catback I saw put on was a magnaflow, done at a professional exhaust shop

What I mean about the tailpipes being 6" to the left...I mean they were too far to the left Hangers had nothing to do with it. One tailpipe was about 2" from hitting on the wheel. Its just difficult to describe. We fcked with it for damn near 5 hours and just decided it was good enough. Like I said, maybe it wasn't the 4th gen catback giving us problems...it may have been the product. I think I would have been far better off just going 100% custom.

I don't have any great pics, but here are a couple. The first one is the elbow we had to bend to hook up the catback to the converter. That was easy.

Pic of the driver side hanger. Looks kinda ghetto, but works lol

Pics of the tips

looks good now that it's done!

custom may have been cheaper, after paying for labor. This is the first time I've seen someone have this big of a problem with a 4th gen setup. I'll make sure to note that one.

Looking back, maybe it wasn't a real big problem. But ill tell you this...if I would have had a big crossflow muffler to deal with instead of a bullet muffler, it would NOT have fit, period. At least in my case.... I can't speak for anybody else, this is just my experience.
