I decided to not go with the custom dual exhaust due to clearance issues and chose to get a full 3 inch y pipe exhaust. The entire exhaust on the car is unusable and the car will be in the shop in a couple weeks. This is the best exhaust I came up with for the car. everything from summitracing, part numbers included.
Edelbrock headers and Y-pipe (ceramic coated) $399.95 EDL-68723
i got flowmaster american thunder and it sounds awesome (took the cat out) but it sounded good with the cat too. Wont sound good right away but after you break it in for a month or so its awesome
EDL-68723 are Ti-Tech coated. Are you planning on ceramic coating them?
(Hint: Don't believe the Summit description. Ti-Tech is a high temp paint, not a true ceramic coating.)
thankyou I did not know that. I need to get it back on the road so I will most likely leave them how they are. Also, Can anybody else tell me what they know about the american thunder exhaust? Is it worth the extra 50 bucks over the hooker catback? please let me know. Thankyou,
everyone will tell you, the hooker cat back sounds way better and actually is a performance cat back, flowmaster is for the sound, hooker sounds awesome, no breakin period too, and they flow great.
by the looks of it u have the same car as me, i have had my flowmaster for 2 years but im going to change it out this summer or next. i dont like the sound and for about the same amount of money i couldve gottn somthing better. but im going to spend a bit more

personally if i were to do it over again i would get the SLP 1 3/4 shorties if i absolutely had to have shorties. im going long tubes next with a custom off road y pipe so it really doesnt make much of a difference to me. DO NOT get a flowmaster catback. personally i would take advantage of ls1tech.com and buy a used catback from there. i got my bassani catback WITH cutout for 250 bucks from a local guy instead of paying almost 800 bucks for it new with the cutout. if you want something that sounds good and is quiet, look into the slp dual/dual. its what came stock on the firehawk and ss 4th gens. or if you dont care how the tips look, get the slp two on the left (2OTL for short). thats what came stock on the 96-97 ss camaros. its supposed to be one of the best flowing fbody catbacks available.
