cable style cutout

i want to order the Cable operated Mr. Gasket's exhaust cutout from summit MRG-5424 for $46.88 its made of cast iron. does anyone have one of these and can tell me how they like it. another thing is i was trying to find more information on if i installed it before the cat on my formula i heard i would mess up the positive perssure egr valve on my 89' 5.0 tbi car cause it to throw codes etc do to not having enough backpressure. so i was woundering if i installed it after the cat would i still have any problems with that?

You can put it behind the cat no problem. Think about it - the exhaust is just going through a muffler and some pipes after that anyway. It'll be fine.

So you got one with just a plate that you unscrew? good idea. I kinda think the mr. gasket one is a POS. An electric plate can be had for pretty cheap. That's what I have.
