I just purchased a 1988 IROC with a 5.7. Im a novice so this may be a dumb question but im interested in adding a performance exhaust. I want something that is going to give me a nice mellow sound while giving me some performance increase. I was thinking about a flowmaster. Would that be a good choice? I like the look of the standard factory pipes coming out the back. Can that be done?

Flowmaster, Magnaflow, DynoMax and others all make factory replacement exhausts for our cars. Shop at Summitracing.com.
Buy a 3" CATCO Cat, 3" "I-Pipe", 3" input dual 2.5" output Muffler and pipes. If you want to go the extra mile get Hooker 2055's with the Y-Pipe. That is a sweet exhaust setup!
yo, where are you in king of prussia, i go to school there at cabrini like 3 minutes from the mall and live in plymouth meeting, ive got edelbrock headers with a flowmaster catback on my 91 RS, it would sound awesome if my damn header collecters werent leakin like a bitch
If you prefer the stock look, the Edelbrock catback system looks almost identical to the stock exhaust back at the tailpipes. I'm running it, and I'm very happy with the looks and the sound.
