Hooker 16823 cat back itermediate pipe crush

The end part of the intermedite pipe that goes bolted to the muffler has a little crush on the under side, pretty much in the middle of that short pipe.

Its part of the Hooker-16823 cat back that I bought from Summitracing.

Now, the person that is e-mailing me from Summitracing coustumer sevice tells me it must be for clearance issues. I e-mailed him pics and he answers he cant open the files they are to big.

Are they really supposed to be crushed in that place? It loocks like they were hit with a hammer.

Any help would be appreciated.

...no, no problems......my car passed the german emission tests ("AU"-Abgasuntersuchung)

...and yes, sometimes it's really fun to drive the german Autobahn

btw.,
...did you change any other things to your car? (Cat, Y-Pipe e.g.)

...I ask, because the HOK-16823HKR-system you and me got has a bigger flange/connection...
...and it doesn't match the small flange of the "little" single 2.5"/2.25" cat your car has (for this cat the HOK-16820HKR is a direct-fit!) without any modification (new flange) or a "bigger" cat...

...I changed over to a complete system with a 3" Catco 9118 cat and Hooker 2055-1HKR headers....so this was a pure bolt-in and direct-fit...

Pontiac V8. Exellent news for the emissions.

For now I did no significant modifications. But have the cat-back and the same catco as you mentioned waiting for the MAC headers.

Since mine is a lo3, I have some other parts too waithing for the lt1 cam + parts.

I saw the pics of your exaust, makes me whant mine done iven more, did you ceramic coate all of it?

...you think of this picture?

...no...no ceramic coat after y-pipe (i think, this could have been a little to expensive )

...i sprayed the cat-back for a better rust protection and more durability (rust prevention) with a kind of aluminium-color (this paint contains 99,5% of aluminium), which is told to be heat resistent to 800 °C...(it's no VHT stuff...!)
