Hooker 2210's and starter wires?

you guys with 2210's ...where and how did you run that be gagle of starter wires? I test fittting the other night and noticed that....the wires are extremely close to the headers...did you wrap them with something? if so, what?

Also how did you run the wires, on the lower side if the motor mount or the top side?

Pics would help out alot..

I thermal wrapped all my wires near the exhaust. I might have pics, I'll post later. I looks like alum foil summit & jegs sells it by the foot.

Hey wishmaster,

I actually completely re-routed mine. I know on my '86 (i think your '87 is similar) the stock routing is along the valve cover then down behind the alt then back to the starter. So I just dropped it down behind the head, run it along the bellhousing bolts and then along the oil pan rail to the starter. I did wrap them in heat shielding but probably didnt need to. This routing was way cleaner and safer from heat than the previous routing. a buddy of mine with his 86 with stock routing actually had his starter wires rub through on the front edge of the valve cover and throw sparks!
