Hedman LTs, dual cats, and dual turbo mufflers sounded absolutely awesome on my car. It was a bit louder than I liked, but it also dumped at the axle.

i couldn't fit 2 turbo mufflers under my camaro but i did buy them. Ended up wanting more ground clearance so I ran spiralflow mufflers which don't muffle much at all.

I didn't have the 2.5", but the 3" in/out had a very nice mellow tone to them on my 396 - I loved it.

Unfortunately, at least the 3-inchers, the inner tubes necked down to 2" before the perforations - which I thought was going to be too restrictive. So, I never ran them.

Really loved the tone of them, though.

Oh, mw66nova doesn't have the Summit turbo mufflers. He has the Summit welded mufflers - a completely different animal. I have a set of those in 3-inchers on the 396 now - much too loud for my taste. But, they flow well.

im doing exactly the same thing for my 82 that MW has- except no H pipe- as long as the old LT's that i have here will fit without anything more than some slight hammer(ford tool) massaging

i too will go with the summit welded muffs, or similiar priced muffs

dumping at the axle also

quickest, easiest and cheapest, and least trouble-some install, all in one, win win win ::PP

good luck

The summit turbo mufflers are white lable boxed dynomax super turbos that are blems. Might have a nick or mark on the case or something.

My dad used the summit turbos on his 337 (327 punched .060" over) cid powered '82 firebird. Sounded great. Much much quiter than my flowmasters.

I don't have a sound clip of his, but in words it's a deep toned lower DB rumble. About as loud as some of the new trucks but with a classic muscel car of the 60's and 70's tone.

Here's a couple of pics of his X pipe, Hedman LT, summit turbo dual exhaust.
We done it all in our yard, didn't have a shop bend anything up or weld anything. We done the welding

damn work has that site blocked as personal storage but ill take a look at it when i get home... as long as it sounds nice i could care less. the loud part ehh id rather not attract the attention of local cops as they are all hard asses. just need an exhaust that flows well and has a nice deep tone.
