will monte carlo 305 headers fit a 305 tpi camaro?

What the title states..i have a line on nearly new ceramic coated header that came off of an 80s 305 monte carlo..they are shorty headers. What do you guys think? any chance of them fitting?

I would assume that you could get them to fit. The only thing I'd be concerned about is the flange angle lining up where it connects to the Y-pipe.

Yea i was thinking that too. Worst comes to worst i could get someone to make a Y pipe for me. Im probably looking a these headers for about 50 bucks so i was really curious.

There is no way a Chevelle (aka Monte Carlo) header will fit a Camaro.
Completely different body and Chevelle has a frame so the tubes go up to clear the a-arm on the right side, no room for that on an f-body.

...where did a Chevelle ever come into this? It seems like the Edelbrock TES shorty headers themselves were the same for F and G bodies. I highly doubt the Y pipe will fit but I think the headers might. I guess if it was me the headers better be free because making a Y pipe is a lot of hassle for shorty headers. Lots of work for a minor return.

I was about to ask the very same question. I do realize the monte carlo and the chevelle were basically the same car back in the early 70's (when the introduced the monte carlo in '70 it shared a lot of chevelle parts) but this is in the 80s. So not chevelle.

Yeah he's talking about an 80's monte, not sure how similar that was to the chevelle though.

I just checked the product number on hooker headers for a camaro and a monte and they are 2460 and 2466 respectively...so something about them is different. Now, it's either the way the primaries are routed (in which case I think either configuration would be suitable), or the way the flanges line up.

It's a gamble man, until someone comes in here who has tried this swap before and can tell you ya or nay

Re: will monte carlo 305 headers fit a 305 tpi camaro?

Chevelle was the generic name for the a-bodies as well as a model itself back in the day, and it carried over to the g-bodies in the 80's. Monte Carlo, Malibu, Grand Prix, etc, were all g-bodies, but they were also a-bodies when the Chevelle was around.

The driver's side header would fit, but the passenger side header has a different routing and will not fit.
