Exhaust suggestions
Hey guys,
I need some advice, my exhaust setup is pretty much crap, i have TES headders up front leading to a mostly stock setup untill after the cats which are clogged, after the cats is a 3 inch tube going directly to the tailpipes, no muffler....like i said crap, im not looking to spend too much money, im thinking of just cutting the cats off and adding some exhaust dumps instead, im not worried about emissions because it's not a daily driver, and i removed all of the A.I.R setup anyway, reccomendations ? id like to get a muffler on the car as well, something that does not resonate inside the car at all, but sounds good.
P.S. i was also wondering on doing a single pipe instead of the dual factory fashion, maybe one dump and out to a cat back setup is that better or worse ? Thanks for your help in advance !

Re: Exhaust suggestions
you could try and run a single muffler dump.... u just need to figure out where ur placing the muffler, if ur running dumps before the axle and dont mind ground clearance, i would get a single chamber design 3" muffler.... i have a pair of chambered PRO SERIES 3" FORCE mufflers with an 3" xpipe and heaman long tubes with headman3" extensions and these mufflers sound amazing. i dont have any resonance and the tone is awsome(then again why would i have resonance with an xpipe) flowmaster sells a kit that is a single exhaust exit with a single exit setup with there 40series that runs the stock locations and its not expensive and makes more power than the dual exit setup. ive heard this on my 86 with a beefed up 305 and it sounds good and isnt crazy loud or have resonace... personally i would do with that set up and its 3" all the way, mandrel bent etc in the stock location so u get the ground clearance
