Who has Dyno Don Headers with AFR Angle plug heads?

I'm planing to install Dyno Dons Shorty headers on my AFR 195s (ANGLE PLUG) heads.
I understand that the Dyno Don Headers are loosely patterned after the SLP shorty headers. This is my concern. The SLP headers had to be beat to death to get them to clear the plugs.

Has anyone used Dyno Dons headers on the AFR angle plug heads?
How do they fit?

I really like Dons headers, They look like high quality pieces. I just want a little real world feedback on angle plug fit.

Re: Who has Dyno Don Headers with AFR Angle plug heads?

I did a search on your Name cause I was curious as to what you have in your car to get that kind of power. How big a Nitrous hit did you use to get 600+RWHP and TQ? also what size cam is in your car?
Im also wondering why you switched from 200cc comp ported AFR's to 195's eliminators I assume.

thanks!

The AFRs are 195s that have been competition ported. They end up at 200 CCs after porting.

The car uses a 150 shot of nitrous that is monitored by the FAST computer with a wide-band 0/2. It constantly makes corrections to make sure the air and fuel play nice together.

Re: Who has Dyno Don Headers with AFR Angle plug heads?

Are you talking about regular angle plug heads, or the L98 angle plugs? Regular L98 angle plug heads will fit the headers just fine. The AFR angle plugs will not. He has to build the passenger side a different way for AFR angle heads.
His headers are built a different way than the SLP's so you dont have to bash the primaries to get them to fit.

By the way, Dyno Don is my dad.

Re: Who has Dyno Don Headers with AFR Angle plug heads?

Thank you. That is exactly what I needed to know.

Now I just have to find out if the AFR 195s have the Regular angle, or the L98 angle. Then tell Don what way they need to be built.

Re: Who has Dyno Don Headers with AFR Angle plug heads?

i sent my money to don for the headers on monday, just waiting for them to be shipped. i told him that i have L98 angle plug afr heads, and he said that the headers will fit. as i recall and i just double checked afr's website, they only make the head in Straight or L98 angle versions, they dont make a "regular angle" plug head.

I also checked AFRs website and came to the same conclusion.
Don & I have been messaging back and forth, and he has confirmed everything you have said.

Let us know how they fit when you get them. It will be a few weeks before I will be able to install mine.

Mike, would you delete that quote from Kevin as it has errors and should not be read by others (confusing).

Re: Who has Dyno Don Headers with AFR Angle plug heads?

ok i get what you mean now. but still don told me that his headers will fit with the AFR angle plug. does this mean he is going to build my passenger side header different for it to fit more properly? because when he told me that they would fit, it seemed like he was talking about his standard design. maybe we had some miscommunication and he thinks i have the regular L98 angle. should i contact him?

There are two different angles.
(1) the standard L98 angle (AFR uses this) these point "IN" only. Just like Corvette heads.

(2) The AFR regular angle ...these point "IN" and "DOWN".

If what you say is true they don't put their regular angle on the 195 heads, only on competion heads.
