can i get some sizing recomendations? I want to put a cherry bomb extreme with dual outlet on my gta. I was gonna put it somewhere before the axle and build my own tailpipes. The sizes they have are in this link.
Just do the 7427. Its 3" inlet, dual 2.5" outlet. But you are gonna have a job and a half fitting it before the axle, and running the pipes.
On another note, I bought the IMCO pro series (2-chamber) mufflers which are the same exact as the cherry bomb pro's but a different box. But they were awesome on my v6, would have sounded better on a v8. They were great quality for the price, better than flowmaster. And they hadnt rusted after two salty winters (aluminized).
I'd say 7428, put it in the stock location, and use a single 3" tailpipe.
Its not a cross flow muffler. And i want dual tips.
Would anybody happen to have pics of how they have their exhaust set up to share with me? :-)
thanks
I dont think they make a crossflow extreme. I thought you wanted to place the muffler somewhere before the axle and run two pipes out like a mustang.
If you want a cherry bomb crossflow application, get the 7467 or the 7468. They are pro series crossflow mufflers, which will sound similar to a flowmaster 80. The 7468 is 3" inlet, while the 7467 is 2.5" inlet. So if you currently have stock exhaust you would need the 7467 probably.
i worded that poorly. sorry. It is straight piped right and piping stops after the axle right now. I meant that i want to put it b4 the axle, not in a cross flow position, and i was gonna see if i could build tail pipes that would bring it out the back as duals. I know that it wont flow very evenly because the right side would have maybe one bend in it and the left would have probably 3 or 4 to get it to come out in the right spots in the back, but i think i can deal with it. I plan on setting it up far from how it is stock.
If you are going to go through all the work to run 2 pipes over the axle, why not just get some longtubes on the cheep and run true dual 2.5" exhaust? Then you could use 2 extreme mufflers and it would sound nasty!
headers will happen eventually but i dont have that kinda money right now. One of my teachers at my tech school thinks i should get single inlet/outlet, put it before the axle, lengthen the part of the pipe where it curves right b4 it would have gone into the stock muffler to the center, then put a y-pipe there and route custom tailpipes from there for duals. I'll be making quite a bit of backpressure if i do that, but it still wouldnt be quite as bad as the stock system, and its only a temporary setup anyways.
