header collector question?

ok someone has a brand new set of summit shorties im not sure what the primarys but the collector is 2.5 but i was wanding im going to run 3in. exhaust but would it be a waste of my time to go with the 2.5 or should i try and find a set of 3 in? there brand new and 50 bucks with bolts gaskets.

You could run the two 2.5" collectors into a 3" Y and use 3" for the rest of the system.

but what about primarys? 1 1/2 to little over stock or should i just get a set of 1 5/8. just looking into whats goign to be best for this car later downt he road witht he 350 goes in.

The Summit headers aren't the best, especially if you have to fab your own Y. You might want to wait for something better instead of doing your exhaust twice.
