Is that a muffler it is hooked up to? If so what kind is it? Where could I pick this setup at? A truck shop or what. Mufflex really didnt have anything I could find.
Thanks "1FastZ" for bearing with me hear. I just love the sound and is EXCATLY what I'm looking for the sound.
Thanks again
Yup, thats a Spintech muffler.

i figured this would be the appropriate thread for this question...
does anyone know how spintechs crossflow muffler is as far as flow goes? the one that comes with the dual exit 4" mufflex kit. if so that would be awesome, as i am debating the kit greatly.
I was running Hooker Super Comp Longtubes into a custom 4" Y-pipe then 4" piping back to the Mufflex. Car dyno's out at 396whp, but I feel the 4" is slightly big, so I'm dropping to a 3.5".
As for the Mufflex, I wanted something a little louder. The Mufflex sounds good and aggressive but not very loud... but at the same time, my muffler is probably the biggest one I've ever seen so I can't expect it to be too loud.
BTW: IF you want a 4" Mufflex, mine'll be up for sale
It's ready to go, I just gotta get back to my bud's shop to pick it up and take some pictures(all the parts I took out for new stuff is sittin over there).
Is a 3.5" pipe enough? Here are some figures for you to find out. Exhaust flows 115cfm per square inch of pipe. You need 2.2cfm per horsepower. That should be enough to get you started.
i think its border line larger enough for this setup, assuming 400whp is around 500 crank...20% drivetrain loss... 2.2 cfm per hp is 1100 cfm and 3.5 inch pipe flows just over 1100
if he goes bullet, that will be enough flow to cover that motor. 3.5 inch is border line, i still wouldnt consider 4inch too big

Haha, listen to this guy, I love it! He knows his exhaust stuff. In my 'exhaust recommendation' thread, you made that technical formula thing for exhausts and I quoted it on like 4 different sites!
If you were to check out my thread discussing a exhaust setup for my 383 build, you'll see the science behind it I didnt know much about exhaust till i started researching for my build. To build a good system there are alot of things to pay attention to, as a few of us discovered in that thread
Did you feel your car was down on power with the flowmaster? Did your car make as much power as you expected?
I mean 50+rwhp is like bolting on a set of really good cylinder heads. IMO, the car would have had to feel "slow".
I have a flowmaster muff on my mufflex. Granted the engine is new and isn't broken in yet and I am having tuning issues but it isn't as fast as I think it should be. I am wondering if it's due to the flowmaster.
Was it difficult getting the Ultraflo to fit? The hangar brackets for a Mufflex seem to be set up for the offset inlet/outlets of the spintech/flowmaster mufflers.
Car's not a daily driver so I like it loud! Had true dual Bullet's on the BlueZ and I was content with it... I could even go louder and be happy
Mine isn't either but it would get driven more if it was a bit more quiet. Damn, maybe I'm getting too old One cop at an accident scene gave me the stink eye while I rumbled by slow on an uphill part of the road.

Kinda curious how people like the 4in exaust? Hows the ground clearance and the sound??Any pics? Have 3in flowmaster cross flow now. Want something diffrent. Please post!
Depends on how much power you are currently putting out, if you should be putting out more than 400hp anything less I'd stick to 3"- 3 1/2" tops, I had the 4" in my old 4th gen on a stock LT-1 w/ headers 1000cfm tb, msd 6al, 4.10's 6 speed no cat 125hp shot of spray, let me tell you without the spray it felt so, so, defenitly loss of some low end, but when I hit the spray holy ****! I used to love messing with crotch rockets gear for gear and it would piss em off cause they would try to be cute and try to cat walk by me and think they would pull on me and see that I won't lift because my 6 speed. sorry I was reliving a moment in time, anyway when I would put my old 3" set up I would have mad low end. As far as the 4" and ground clearence no issues there as well mine had the big flowmaster that was 4" in and 4" out
Ok guys. Time to buy the kit. Should I get 3.5" or 4"?? Its a cammed ls1 with cold air, program,ls6 intake ect..ect. I should be around 400rear wheel HP. Maybe a lil less. But nitrous is in its future. Let me know guys.
Hey 1fastZ.. What system did you go with? The one for dual cats or single? How'd you do your 2.5" pipes in to the 4"?? Love your setup!!! I had dual cats on my car but all thats gone(ls1). Thanks!!

I went with the 4 inch for the single cat. (Even though I don't have any cats) Then I just merged the 2 pipes into the 4inch.
Well it looks good. Just wanted to see what kit you went with. Just a few more details and my ls1 swap will be fired up for the first time. Thanks again!
Got me exaust yesterday. MAN IT SICK. This is huge exaust. Got to build the Y now. Thinking about getting a flowmaster Dual 3" to Single 4". Will see. Who else has pics of they're y's?? Thanks guys
