short clip, but sounds pretty much just like my LT1 Magnaflow I used on my L98 ( posted above ).
I defintely would have bought the 3rd gen system had it been available just to save a little hassle.
Sounds pretty good. Still, nothing like that flowmaster thunder, but kinda refined.
You gotta get a clip of some WOT driveby and cruise driveby. If the thing screams at WOT, it might be a good investemnt.
Another thing I noticed, is the idle sounds stock. Is it any louder in real life? Because one of the more important aspects too me is a real loud idle, so everybody can hear it at a red light.

The idle is deeper than stock, but not much louder. I actually prefer it that way. People at stoplights can appreciate whatever stupid music I'm listening to
I got underneath mine, and underneath the crud and dirt (the undercarriage of mine is getting painted and detailed this spring) my muffler does indeed say Magnaflow on it. Can I assume its a 3" all the way back? It sure looks big enough at first glance...
I think it will sound very similar to my exhaust.., quiet at idle.. deep tone at cruising, and screaming at WOT - louder then the american thunder catback that was on previously, yet the interior volume is much quieter then the flowmaster below 3500rpm.
What makes this exhaust system specific to a TPI engine? Would I be able to use this on my 91 TBI camaro ?
Our TBI motors have the smaller inlet at the cat convertor. So TBI exhausts need to neck down to 2.25" at the ball/socket flange.

BRISK!! What positrac unit do you have in the black camaro?? That burnout / donut video was amazing! Both tires spinning, sideways drifting! I hate my 3.08 open, it wont even do a donut.
And BTW, the burnout + donut video, and the Lopey Idle Part 1 video, the exhaust sounded 100 times meaner.
I see. Well I assume this would work on my TBI because all at once I will be putting on some hooker shorty headers, cutting out the catylitic converter, and adding a mccord power plate cutout. The new magnaflow system should hook up with this setup, correct?
High flow catalyst equiped mandrel bent stainless steel manifold pipes are will be available as well.
Here is the 1990 dual catalyst configuration. 22% increase in total flow capacity and should be hitting the dyno early next week.
I didn't find the dual cat system listed in their present Internet catalog. Do you know when they might have it listed. I really like the looks of the dual cat system and along with their new cat back system!
i called magnaflow today.....still no ETA..........do the guys that have received the exhaust maybe have any more info.......i think its going to be 6 weeks away, which is pushing it for me.
damnit i really needa exhaust an am trying to decide betweeen waiting for this or just gettin a american thunder i dotn think i can wait for this tho but how much will it be do u know?
Thought I would Kick this thread back to the top with some new information.
If you go to Maganaflow's site dyno numbers and clips of brandotron car are up on the website. According to there check availability app they will have them on 4-28-08. I also found them listed on one of there resellers site for considerable less then on maganaflow's website which we all expected.
Just as a side note when My dad ordered his magnaflow cat back for 08 Solstice GXP he was able to get a lower price then the distributor had list on the web by calling and placing an order over the phone. Might be worth a try. I plan on ordering on Monday. I'll let you know if I am able to secure any other discounts by calling instead of ordering off line.
WOW, my baby's on the Magnaflow site! I'm VERY flattered, and I'm stoked they dynoed it, but does this rwhp look right for a bone stock L98 with a high flow cat and exhaust? Do I have a factory freak?

Cool your car is something everyone will see. As for the dyno.. doesn't seem right. I noticed that when I saw it on their site. Forget the numbers, look at the curve. It's way wrong for a stock TPI
One of the posts said it sits and inch lower than stock? My car is lowered and I already have a hard enough time with speed-bumps hitting the Y-pipe....any of you have pictures of it on your car?
I ordered mine from www.performancepeddler.com/ . Not sure where the other guys got theirs from. You'll need to call them on the phone since it is not yet listed on there website. If all goes well it is slated to ship out the 21st I think.

Reason: English sucked.
You can get it from any Magnaflow dealer including Summit, Jegs, etc. It's brand new so it might not be in print or on the web yet. Call them to order.
I don't have the magnaflow catback but I have the 4th gen magnaflow muffler with 3" intermediate piping, magnaflow cat and dynomax turndown tailpipes. Its pretty a low/deep growl. It definitely sounds badass but not distracting at all. I can only imagine the muffler designed for our TPI cars sounds even better...

Well they are doing a lot of work for nothing. I have the 4G exhaust on my third GEN for 3+ years now! :-)
Yeah. I've had a LS1 cat-back on mine for 2 years now. It's not a Magaflow cat-back, but built for a LS1, using all Magnaflow pieces, and put on my 87.
Other than muffler tuning to a L98 (TBI, etc.) they really didn't hafta make anything new.
And it isn't listed on Summit. It says it is in stock. Has anyone got it yet??? Any emails??
I only ask because i was previously battling between hooker and magnaflow for my cat-back. Then chose hooker mostly because it had a 3rd gen system, now apparently Magnaflow has one too. It has be second-guessing myself.

Well let me know how it goes. That's a pretty penny to spend on a cat-back, but ill put out for it if it has the power of the hooker setup but sounds like typical magnaflow.
i got mine from hott exhaust for 420.00
im having it installed right now, i also got a pair of stainless hooker 2460s and the hooker y pipe. everything fit except for where the cat was supposed to go, so my mechanic just put a different pipe in there and it all looks smooth . i cant wait to hear it.
