headers stock hook up?

I Don't have too much money so i was wanting to buy some headers that hopefully i could just bolt up to the stock exhaust until i get some extra money for a whole new exhaust system. do they make any headers like this and also if i had to remove the smog pump would the stock belt work or would i have to get a different belt also?im pretty much confused on the whole thing about installing headers. anything helps!

You're not going to gain anything by retaining the stock Y, so save your money and do it right the first time.

There are no commercially available headers for our cars that bolt to the factory y-pipe. As James says, that's really a good thing.

Going cheap with headers is bound to either cost you more in the end, or not have any performance improvement. May not seem fair, but who said life is fair?

Re: headers stock hook up?

Replace your cat with an aftermarket high-flow cat like from Magnaflow, and replace your stock exhaust/muffler with a cat-back unit also from Magnaflow or another place you like. The TBI exhaust is horrible and you'll gain quite a bit from just this change. Save the headers and y-pipe for later. You need to buy them together as nobody makes headers that bolt to the factory y-pipe, for a good reason.
