I just finsihed installing the hedman LTs in my 90 camaro. Installation was breeze(which was surprising). Only problem is while installing the drivers side I needed to drain the oil and take off the oil filter so I could twist the header in there. now after I mounted the header I noticed I cant fit the stock oil filter back in. The bottom of the filter hits the collector on the header. ITs hitting because I have a plate above the oilfilter that has 2 lines that run to an oil cooler so the filter is about an inch closer to the header. Is there a lower profile oil filter for another car that I can use? I dont wanna have to pull the oil cooler plate Thanks!

From what I can remember on my 86 bird, there were two oil filters that would fit it. One was a long filter and the other was a short. Seem like the only difference was the last two numbers on the box. I would say, ask a gm service center or an auto parts store. I'm sure they would be able to cross reference one.

I have an 84 with a 355 and I have Hedman Elite long tubes and it doesnt even come close to hitting the oil filter which is the PH-30. Sucks to have that plate above the oil filter. Look into Mobil1 oil filter it looks like it will work
That was one thing I ran into when I put the headers on. I took the oil cooler off and replaced it with a stock type adapter. Now I can use both the long and short filter with no problem.
Oh yeah, It didnt have any adverse affect on the motor removing the cooler.
Ok I was tryign to avoid this because the plate is stuck on there pretty good and Im not using it I have it looping back. Ill try spraying a shitload of WD40 on and see what that does. Thanks
Ok update! I got off the oil cooler. Yet another problem arises(big surprise). Theres 2 studs that are too far out so the oil filter wont start threeading to the block. Is there an OEM GM adapter that was removed ot get this oil cooler on? Heres some pics.
