Classicchambered.com sells chambered exhaust pipes. I got one for my iroc and it is freaking loud (although I still have to finish the rest of the exhaust after the chambered pipe, that extra length of piping should mellow it down some). It's really nothing more than a straight pipe with some baffling.
The idea is not just to sound loud, but to sound loud and GOOD. Glasspacks not only sound like crap, but they have been shown to actually reduce horsepower.
i have a thrush glasspack 2.5" in/ out. i think it sounds great.
as far as glasspacks sounding like cr@p- only the cheap-o ones sound like crap. that's why they're cheap. the thrush glasspacks aren't that much more expensive, but the quality and sound is much better.
chambered exhaust is a completely different sound. personally, its not my thing. seen a bunch of 3rd and 4th gens with that setup.
bottom line- do your research and figure out which you like best. the chambered mufflers are more expensive, but it's worth it if it's what you like
LG4 305ci 4bbl motor, 2.5" Cherry Bomb Extreme muffler- side exit exhaust, Cragar 15x7 Black D Window wheels (4" backspacing), Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires (P235/60R15), 36mm hollow front sway bar with wonder bar, 24mm rear sway bar, Energy Suspension endlinks and Guldstrand bushings, Edelbrock Elite 4222 air cleaner with K&N filter, FF Dynamics 16" Cyclone electric fan, Flex-a-lite Variable Speed Fan Controller, custom fixed headlight conversion with 5000K HIDs and Silverstar Ultra H7 bulbs, Pilot PL-362W driving lights with Hella 100W H3 bulbs, Deka Intimidator 9A78DT AGM battery
A straight-thru glasspack isnt gonna reduce HP any more than any other straight-thru muffler like a magnaflow. The only difference is the packing, the quality of metal, and the shape of the baffle scoops inside.
Its mufflers like a flowmaster, that use chambers, that will start raking up the backpressure.

glasspacks have been kicking *** for decades i dont know why everyone hates on them, same people that hate on 15" wheels, white letter tires and air shocks it seems

Haha, i've got 15" wheels and white letter tires, but no airshocks, my car sits high enough in the rear as it is. Looks good to me though.
not meaning to hijack this, but u got ne pics? planning on getting some wheels soon, thinking outlaw II's, centerlines, pro stars or M/T et's. (probably outlaw IIs with radial t/a's, the cheap route)
For the record, I just got my exhaust finished. That chambered resonator from classicchambered.com sounds amazing in front of a summit turbo series muffler.
