Hooker 2210's, T-56 and Mufflex 4" done!

Just thought I post up pics of my Hooker 2210 longtube headers and Mufflex 4" cat back exhaust in my T-56 converted (Skulte Longtube Xmember) Z28. I had a local exhaust shop fab me up a Y-pipe. I gave him a Flowmaster Y scavenger (dual 3" into a single 4") and told him to keep the ground clearance as best he could. You can really tell from the pics, but the header collectors are the lowest point in the whole system!

Do you think there was anyway for him to raise it up in the middle area? Main reason I'am asking is cause I have the mufflex 4" and flowmaster scavenger with the Skulte Longtube Xmember comming. I'am looking for Idea's before I tear everything apart this oct.

Nope! Its pushes the xmsn up a tiny bit more than my Spohn one did, and I can see a wee bit of chaffing from the xmsn mount on the Skulte xmember already. I going to do a little clearancing on the metal part of the xmsn mount to fix the chaffing. It looks to me like everything is as far "up" as it will go. Hope that helps.

Looks good. you have alot more clearance than my setup with the spohn xmember and auto trans. I went under the frame rails and paid for it with crushed y pipe. that was 3" piping, and it did touch bottom of the road alot. yours looks much better. T56 and T56 xmembers help alot with 2210's

Better than I thought it would. I thought it would rattle against the frame from time to time, but so far its been great. ALOT louder than my SLP shorties and Flowmaster 3" cat back!

It wont sound as good, but you might pick up a couple of ponies by switching mufflers.

Let me know what kind of a difference it makes, I'm curious!

I was going to advise in swapping out the Spintech. They sound killer but are horrible for actual exhaust flow. We basically have identical setups cept mine is in the 3.5" and I swapped the Spintech to a Hooker Aerochamber. Was worth another 10 to the rear wheels. But I've seen much more gains from ditching the Spinners on cars!! Nice car BTW!!

Exactly! Ive been reading some posts about people picking up 20-30 rwhp swaping out the Spintech muffler. Some say that they have to re-tune the car and add a bunch of fuel to get there A/F ratio correct. Ive been expecting to pick up 20 rwhp, from the muffler swap myself.

After replacing my old exhaust, (Flowmaster 3" cat back, SLP headers) I went back to the dyno with my new Hooker 2210's, and 4" Mufflex exhaust I picked up 38 rwhp without any tuning yet! So it will be interesting to see what will happen on the dyno once I get the Ultraflo on and tune it.

....let alone the weight loss by going to another muffler. Those Spintechs are heavy.

Re: Hooker 2210's, T-56 and Mufflex 4" done!

Hi Randy92Z
nice looking Exhaust..

dont know if you are looking at your photos..but you need to get that rust off your SFC's. and get a somthing on them.. before you have to replace them.. the tube style is not up to alot of rust. when it comes to stoping the flex.. just so ya know..

on aside note: i wish my car came without all the Black stuff the dealer sprayed under My 92 when i picked it up.. i pasted on the cost as it was going to be a drag car..then the nexed day when i came to pick it up... they told me
"hey we just added that for free has a thank you"

why do you think i told you i did not want it..
there was like 10 lbs of that stuff on there..
