L69 manifolds, L98 y-pipe

Well, I got an lg4 and got my hands on some cheap L69 manifolds. Pass side is 14071200. I also picked up an Y-pipe from a 350 tpi(L98?).
Will these match up?

regards
Hasse

Re: L69 manifolds, L98 y-pipe

Check the connection between the pass side header and the y-pipe. The L69 exhaust uses an EFE (Early Fuel Evaporation) valve installed between the manifold and y-pipe on that side that is absent on the L98s. They may look like they'll work but when installed there may be a gap between the end of the manifold and y-pipe where this valve was installed. The L69 pass manifold has a female type fitting. The EFE was male-male between the two.

Re: L69 manifolds, L98 y-pipe

The L69 had the EFE valve while the L98 had a spacer. With either of these in place, the manifold and Y should mate.

Well I haven EFE vlve and I intend to use it. It matches up fine after a small amount of grinding. Just dont have the opportunity to try them on my car right now....
